Virtual Learning Begins Wednesday, November 11th for ALL Students

posted Oct 19, 2020, 9:56 AM by Alyson Ogaz   [ updated Nov 10, 2020, 1:51 PM ]

Pueblo School District 60 will transition all High Schools to Distance Learning effective Wednesday, November 11, 2020.  In addition, we will transition all PreK-8 grade students to Distance Learning effective Monday, November 30, 2020, following Thanksgiving Break.

This is necessary due to the extremely high incidence of COVID-19 transmission in our community.  Although our schools have done a stellar job in implementing health and safety processes which have been effective in containing and minimizing the spread of COVID-19, surging infection rates from the community continue to negatively impact our schools.  With more and more student cohorts and staff needing to quarantine, this places significant strain on our system.   We are unable to provide the necessary coverage to continue to operate our schools and provide in-person instruction.

We anticipate the shift to Distance Learning will be in effect at least through the end of the 1st semester which will carry us into 2021.  We understand the hardship and inconvenience this presents to our families.  D60 has been proactive in providing a technology device to every student, and our teachers and other staff are better prepared than ever to deliver quality instruction during distance learning.  We will continue to serve our students and our community to the best of our ability.

posted Oct 13, 2020, 9:11 AM by Renee Hahn   [ updated Oct 13, 2020, 9:11 AM ]

Central High School is excited to begin in-person classes for our High School students on Wednesday, October 21, for students who chose the in-person hybrid model. Starting Wednesday, October 21 all high schools will begin to follow Stage 2 guidelines:

Stage 2
  • ALL students begin to follow their Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday hybrid schedule
  • In-person students return to the classroom two days a week and learn online two days a week
  • Fully online students will learn two days a week online synchronously and two days a week asynchronously
In order for our schools to open safely, please remember to wear a mask and follow social distance guidelines to minimize the risk of exposure. Students should arrive and begin to enter the school at their assigned door at approximately 7:10 a.m. in order to provide enough time for temperature taking entry routines.
