SENIORS! Updated Information for May 11th

posted May 1, 2020, 11:39 AM by Alyson Ogaz   [ updated May 1, 2020, 11:43 AM ]

Hello Seniors and Senior Parents!

This is an important announcement for the Graduating Class of 2020.

On Monday May 11th, 2020 we will be videotaping the confirmation of diplomas portion of our virtual graduation on the Central High School stage.  This will include students dressed in their cap and gown walking across the stage to receive their diploma cover.  A professional photographer will also be on hand to take pictures of each graduate. Social distancing guidelines are expected to be followed by all students. In order to maintain social distancing, students will be scheduled to report in small groups to Central High School. Students will need to park in the front of the school, on Orman Avenue. Please arrive at your designated time dressed in your cap and gown (make up on, hair fixed) and wear a mask. There will be no time allowed to "get ready" at the school. You will be allowed to remove your mask briefly if you wish when you are videoed walking across the stage to receive your diploma cover and for your photo. Your assigned time, alpha by student last name, will be posted on Central High School's Website and Facebook Page. You will also receive an email, sent to your District Email address, with your assigned time. When you arrive at Central High School, again, you will need to park on Orman Ave, on the same side of the street as the school. Remain in your car, security, Mrs. Medina and Mr. Gridley will usher students into the building 6 at a time. (If walking or being dropped off, please wait at a safe distance from one another outside in the front of the school.)  Students who are graduating with a Gold or Silver Cord will receive their Sash and Cord on May 11th.  Please write your student name on a sheet of paper that can be seen from your car.  Again, please STAY in your cars, do not get out, until Mrs. Medina or Mr. Gridley tell you to.  We really appreciate your help with this.

From the time students enter the building until they are finished, this should take approximately 15 minutes. Only graduating members of the class of 2020 will be allowed in the building on May 11th.  There will be no congregating allowed in front of the school, inside or outside of the school at any time during the day and students will be expected to leave the campus promptly when finished.  If you ordered a cap and gown and did not pick it up this past week, Jostens will have your cap and gown ready for students to pick up at their scheduled time, and we will have extra, clean caps and gowns on hand for any student who needs one. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me directly.  Once again, Seniors, let's all be part of something memorable on Monday, May 11th for Central High School's videotaping of the conferring of diplomas.

Until then, stay safe and stay, Orman Army Strong!

Senior Message 4/29/2020

posted Apr 30, 2020, 1:22 PM by Alyson Ogaz

Hello Seniors/Senior Parents:

I need to clarify a few things:

  • Seniors, on May 11th, you will receive a diploma cover, not your actual diploma
  • Senior Finals will be, Monday May 18th and Tuesday May 19th
  • Senior Grades will be finalized, by Wednesday May 20th...once this is done, we will know who met all the graduation requirements and who has earned his/her diploma
  • Final grades will determine whether or not you are a graduate

Please, if you have any questions, email me directly.

Thank you for all that you are doing.  I really do appreciate those of you who have reached out.  I want you to know that we are working very hard to make sure the Virtual Graduation Ceremony includes and recognizes all of our Senior Graduates.

Stay Safe and Stay, Orman Army Strong!
