Central Senior Peyton Roth has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Boettcher Foundation Scholarship in 2018.

Roth is the first Central High School student to receive the distinguished scholarship since Cristina Gonzales in 2007 and the 16th overall.

Roth plans on attending The University of Colorado in Boulder as one of the 42 yearly award winners, joining a network of nearly 2,400 Boettcher Scholars since 1952.

This scholarship includes virtually all expenses to attend the Colorado school of his choice: full tuition, fees, a book allowance, and an annual stipend for living expenses. The award is granted for eight semesters at either a public or private four-year college or university in the state.

“The Boettcher Foundation’s Scholarship selection process is competitive and rigorous,” said Tiffany Anderson, director of the scholarship program. “Nearly 1,500 of Colorado’s top students apply each year. Peyton really stood out with his accomplishments both in and out of the classroom. We’re proud to have him representing the Boettcher community.”

Roth’s father, David, is a local Pueblo attorney and his mother, Kelly, is a teacher at Pueblo Central High School. He also has a younger brother, Ryley, who is a freshman at Central High School.
